DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in the world of basic embroidery and take your first steps in Nordic embroidery\, a tradition for embellishing fabrics and tea towels made from honeycomb. During the class you will have a chance to try simple stitches with your own hands.  \nThe course is suitable for everyone from age 6 and up\, and no experience of any kind in embroidery or sewing is required. In Finnish schools\, this type of embroidery is the first work learned around age 7.  \nMaterials included: test fabric\, colored threads and the ‘needle. \nIf you want you can bring your own honeycomb item to decorate it\, for example a shopper or towel\, etc. Otherwise you can order at the time of confirmation a 30×50 cm towel or shopper bag. \nThe course will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 5 registrations. \nNordic coffee with cinnamon swirls will be served during the class. \nCost 6.55 euros per participant.

DESCRIPTION:The Colourstrings Method was created in Finland in the early 1970s by Géza Szilvay\, a Hungarian violinist and teacher\, and his brother Csaba Szilvay\, a cellist. The two Hungarian brothers revolutionized music education in Finland to the point that Colourstrings has become an integral part of the Finnish state music education system. \nThe Colourstrings Music School in Milan is the first in Italy to offer this method\, thanks to the initiative of violinist and violist Elena Deanna Confortini\, who is also the official translator of the Italian version of the method and a certified Colourstrings CCT teacher. \nThe music workshop consists of two sessions: \n10:30-11:15 (45 min) first session for toddlers (0-3 years) \n11:30-12:15 (45 min) second session for children (3-6 years) \n  \nFIRST SESSION – MUSIC KINDERGARTEN \n0-3 years + mom or dad \nSinging with children provides us with special experiences of love and intimacy\, moments of pure joy and happiness. Movement\, combined with singing\, music\, and rhythms\, multiplies and amplifies children’s developmental and learning potential. While we sing to them\, the child is free to explore the space. DESCRIPTION:Saturday 21 June 2025 6-8 pm \nNORDIK.HOUSE Literary Smørrebrød \n“The North is not a place but a state of mind” Quote from the book Pane\, burro e hygge by Chiara Caprettini (Cartman Edizioni). \nA literary gastronomic event with Chiara Caprettini\, food blogger and passionate about the North\, to taste the famous smørrebrød and sample Nordic Kukko beer. Chiara Caprettini is a writer\, sommelier\, photographer and above all passionate about the North. She founded her foodblog NORDFOODOVESTEST in 2015. She also published a book about her trip to the Nordic countries called “Pane\, burro e hygge” and we will listen to her stories\, the presentation of the book and her Nordic experiences. \nChiara will prepare two recipes of smørrebrød with Arctic ingredients. Smørrebrød is a culinary tradition from Denmark consisting of bread\, butter and different ingredients. For our event each Smørrebrød recipe is paired with a famous character from Nordic literature: Pippi Longstocking for the Swedish recipe and Moomin for the Finnish recipe. Our characters are famous in Nordic children’s literature and have preferences for Nordic flavors. Pippi Longstocking loves cinnamon especially in cinnamon rolls. Moomin loves the taste of oats in porridge and bread\, and Nordic berries add a touch of color to the dishes that the Moomins love so much. We will enjoy the Smørrebrød with authentic Kukko beer. Both gluten-free* and non-alcoholic versions will be served. Kukko is a Finnish beer brand from Laitila. They are a pioneer in producing high-quality gluten-free beer that retains the authentic taste of craft beer. \nThere will be a chance to buy the book with the author’s autograph. \nIt will be the occasion to celebrate the vernissage of the exhibition called “Midsummer Landscapes” by Sabine Blomqvvist\, a Finnish watercolorist living in Tuscany. Her works bring the feeling of the calm but imposing North with their harmonious shades.
